Expect Miami-Dade Police On Construction Jobsites

Thank you to the South Florida AGC for passing this news on:

“EXPECT TO SEE INCREASED POLICE PRESENCE ON MIAMI-DADE JOBSITES ENFORCING SOCIAL DISTANCING MANDATES.

The South Florida AGC along with members of the Joint Construction Industry Coalition were invited to take part in a conference call with Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez. Mayor Gimenez had a clear message for us; practice social distancing or your site will be shutdown.

Expect to see increased enforcement tomorrow, Monday, March 30th, by Miami-Dade County police. Ensure that your employees are practicing social distancing at all times and pay double attention during lunch time and breaks which were specifically mentioned as an issue by Mayor Gimenez.”

With Presidents Trump announcing at today’s news conference to expect 100,000 deaths in the United States and the recent closing of most building construction sites in New York City, expect more scrutiny from local and county governments and the public who have complained to the press of what they are observing on construction sites.

UPDATE: Today a client in a North Miami project reports a visit from 5 Miami police to review hand washing stations, postings and observations regarding the 6 ft separation of workers.
